Why Do Manufacturers Need Business Growth Services? In the landmark study of Pennsylvania Manufacturing, "Manufacturing Pennsylvania's Future: Regional Strategies that Build from Current Strengths and Address Competitive Advantage" (January 2004), the Deloitte researchers came to two key conclusions:
  1. "The key to surviving the 1990's was process innovation (i.e. being faster, better, and cheaper), in other words, squeezing the middle lines of the cash statement. During the upcoming decade, price pressures will not relent; they will intensify. The keys to success in this decade lie in growing top line of the cash statement through sales growth."

  2. "(More) small- and medium sized firms must develop well informed strategies that give them distinctive positions in the market place, based on product innovation and continuous improvement of enterprise performance."
